The Cress Gallery of Art is an academic gallery. It's exhibition schedule and programming is selected to demonstrate the highest consideration for formal theory and concept, contemporary artistic practice and materials, excellence in craft and technique, and relevance to the curriculum of the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga Department of Art and its role within the University and the Community. The Cress Gallery of Art is an institutional member of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries (AAMG).

My involvement with the Cress Gallery began as an independent study my senior year of undergrad and continued several years afterward as a freelance designer. During that time, I assisted Ruth Grover, the gallery curator, in organizing digital databases, installing shows, and designing promotional materials using artist provided content. The exhibits below correspond the imagery that follows.

  1. le deluge, après mao; an exhibition of Chinese artists from Wuxi, China (Chattanooga, Tennessee’s Sister City).

I worked closely with the gallery curator to create the promotional materials for this cultural exhibit, including the gallery mail out, an exhibition catalog, and posters to hang across The University of Tennessee Chattanooga's campus. The featured artworks belong to Gao Lei and the Gao Brothers, respectively.
